After the “optimized for mobile” website, TripAdvisor is launching its iPhone app. I’m not sure why it took them so long to take the iRoute, but the app is here now and that’s a good thing.
Anyway, the new TripAdvisor iPhone application, which BTW replaces Local Picks in the AppStore, relies on iPhone’s GPS capabilities to show travelers nearby hotels, restaurants and attractions. Users may sort search results by rating, distance and price; and once find and experience some point of interest, they can instantly leave their two cents about it.
Additionally, using the TripAdvisor Flights feature, you can find the cheapest airfares — it will search the most popular online travel agencies and airlines, so you don’t have to.
TripAdvisor’s app is available to iPhone and iPod Touch users in 20 countries and is available in 13 different languages. It’s a free app and it will definitely help you get around a foreign country. The AppStore link is below.
