Bell BlackBerry Pearl 3G (9100)

As we expected, the BlackBerry Pearl 3G (9100) is now available on Bell! Pricing is sort of what we expected too. You’re looking at $49.95 on a 3-year deal, $179.95 on a 2-year, $279.95 on a 1-year or you can go off-contract for $329.95. Off-contract for $329.95 you say? You know, that doesn’t sound half bad to me. I’m tempted. I really am. In fact, as far as off-contract pricing goes for the BlackBerry 9100, you’re not going to do any better than Bell’s price (at least in Canada!). If nothing else, it’s something to consider.

If you need a quick refresher, the BlackBerry Pearl 3G features the groovy optical trackpad, HVGA display, GPS, 3G, 3.2 megapixel camera, 3.5 mm headphone jack, WiFi, microSD card slot… and of course the SureType keypad. For more information on the device itself, I encourage you to check out our Pearl 3G review… It’s chalked-full of 9100 goodness. Do it, check it out now!

If you already own a BlackBerry Pearl 9100 or are considering the purchase, be sure to leave us your thoughts here in the comments. The new candybar from RIM has been the talk of the town since WES this April, and I’d love to hear what you think about RIM’s update of the ‘legendary’ Pearl. I’m finding it very interesting to see how many regular users of a full QWERTY BlackBerry are considering (and indeed switching) to the SureType-packing Pearl 3G. True, many are picking one up as a secondary device, but the number of flat out converts is surprisingly high (at least from my experience).

For more information or to purchase, you can check out the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 at Bell >

Note: If Bell ain’t your thing, Rogers and TELUS had previously launched the 9100. The Rogers 9100 is up-for-grabs right now at $49.99 on the 3-year term. TELUS has the 9100 up for offer via their online store for $29.99 on-contract. Not too shabby at all.

I have used the Pearl since they first came out. i have been anxiously awaiting the launch from Bell. I'm told my unit will arrive monday. For me its all in the size-i'm used to the suretype and its not a problem. looking at the pictures online the only concern for me is the location of the music player controls. i use this feature alot at the gym and walking and my current expensive leather case will block the new controls where the old controls were accessable while in the case.
