Cortado is bringing its cloud desktop solution for mobile applications, Cortado Workplace, to the Android platform.
The service/application is already used by 15,000 smartphone-ownin’ folks, allowing them to remotely store, access, view and manage documents through their mobile phone, PC or Mac. Cortado Workplace comes with a 1GB online storage space where documents can be saved using a mobile file manager. Additionally, documents can be printed to any local or network printer.
I haven’t been able to give Cortado Workplace a try, but I can clearly see that such services will soon become very popular as the industry moves towards the cloud-based systems. In that sense, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Google optimizing its services for better mobile cloud access. Now that I’m thinking, I wouldn’t be surprised that some major handset maker or mobile operator acquires Cortado and offer it to its user base. There’s an idea! 🙂
Back to Cortado’s offering. To download their application, simply search for “Cortado” in the Android Market and take it from there.
