The Virgin Mobile HTC LegendHappy Sunday all! I just had to do a quick update on the HTC Legend for all of the Canadian mobile junkies out there. You may recall a few days ago I mentioned the Virgin Mobile HTC Legend was available. While the new Android 2.1 (Eclair) powered device wasn’t available online at the time, it is now, and is ready for your Android-lovin’ hands. You can check it out right here.

Pricing on the Virgin Mobile HTC Legend sits at $79.99 on a 3-year term, or $349.99 on a month-to-month basis. Not too shabby if I do say so myself. The only bummer here is for folks in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Yes, due to ‘network differences’ the Legend isn’t available in your province yet. We’ve heard this before, haven’t we?

That’s all well and good but I can already hear some of you saying ‘OK cool, that covers Virgin Mobile, but what about Bell?’. Nothing has changed on that front. As far as we know, the Bell HTC Legend is still slated for a June 16th release network-wide. I’ve made a little note in my calendar, so I’ll be sure to give you an update as the launch nears!

Key features of the HTC Legend include:

  • aluminum unibody construction (very nice)
  • Android 2.1 ‘Eclair’
  • HTC’s Sense UI
  • optical trackpad
  • 3.2 capacitive AMOLED display (320×480)
  • 5 megapixel camera with video
  • 3.5 mm headset jack
  • 600Mhz Qualcomm processor
  • 3G
  • WiFi
  • GPS
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • micro-USB
  • expansion to 32GB via microSD

A nice, tidy feature set for sure… and for anyone out there looking to upgrade from the Hero… Well, yeah, this is a nice update for sure (especially the jump to Android 2.1).

For more information (or to purchase) you can check out the HTC Legend at Virgin Mobile Canada. I can’t wait to get my hands on the Legend. Anyone else pumped?
