Motorola is launching its newly unveiled Flipout smartphone in Germany. The Android-powered device will be available starting July via Vodafone, O2 and The Phone House, for 349 EUR ($428) free of contract. I guess the two carriers (Voda and O2) will also offer it on some contract which I’m guessing will involve giving away the Flipout for free to those folks who commit on a 18-23 month agreement.
As you probably know, Moto’s latest Android handset comes with a flipping QWERTY keyboard, improved MOTOBLUR UI that runs on top of Android 2.1, 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, HSPA and WiFi connectivity, 3-megapixel camera, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack and of course a microSD memory card slot.
Motorola’s next step will most likely assume spreading the distribution to other European countries, but that’s another story which will definitely get some space on IntoMobile — as soon as we have something new to report on Motorola’s smartphone distribution plans, you’ll be the first to know. Stay tuned…
