Ovi Maps got a cool new update for spontaneous folks living or travelling to the US and/or UK. Nokia’s maps app now rocks a location-aware booking feature, allowing users to search for hotels nearby and reserve a room right on the spot. The functionality is added in cooperation with Expedia and comes on the heels of launching the same service in Germany and Finland where HRS provides the backend data.

I love the idea, though I’m not sure Expedia lists budget hotels that fit my price range. I may be wrong, cause I haven’t used them for hotel booking thus far.

Anyway, in order to use the new service, you’ll need to run Ovi Maps v3.04, which is compatible with the following devices: Nokia E72, Nokia E55, Nokia E52, Nokia N97 mini Gold Edition, Nokia N97 mini, Nokia N97, Nokia N86 8MP, Nokia X6 32GB, Nokia X6 16GB, Nokia C5, Nokia 6730 classic, Nokia 6720 classic, Nokia 6710 Navigator, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition, Nokia 5235 Comes With Music and Nokia 5230.
