iPad Arcade Cabinet

You may recall the iPad-in-the-kitchen-cabinets video I posted a little while back. I get a kick out of custom uses for today’s technology, especially when it comes to the iPad. Having an iPad mounted in a kitchen cabinet sounded ridiculous to me at first, but after watching the video a few times I had to admit… I could see it coming in handy. Using velcro to attach your iPad to your wall or motorcycle sounded equally as ridiculous. OK, attaching it to your motorcycle IS ridiculous, and dangerous… but I digress.

Along the same vein, we have another custom-built solution for the iPad today. This time, however, it will grab the attention of the gamers. Check out the video after the break.

No doubt inspired by the classic stand-up arcade games (or heck, even those mini ones, remember those?), the good peeps over at Freekade built the iPad Arcade Cabinet you see here. While I have to question the build quality here, I have to admit, this thing looks awesome. Old style joystick and large red buttons on the right… Excellent. All I need now is a copy of some old-school Coleco or Original NES games to load up, and I’d be good. Hmmmm… maybe Dig Dug on the iPad?

Two big *thumbs up* to Freekade. I want one. Actually, I want two.
