The cloud computing company Wyse Technology is “going Android” with the launch of its Wyse PocketCloud application in the Android Market.
Originally released for the iPhone, Wyse’s app allows users to remotely run their PC desktop or virtual desktop from a large variety of hosts — including VMware View, Microsoft Windows 7 Pro, Enterprise & Ultimate, Windows XP Pro, Windows Vista Business and Remote Desktop Services in all Windows Server products.
Wyse is proudly emphasizing that its app is the only client that is VMware Ready Certified for VMware View available for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad (and now Android). Wyse PocketCloud integrates seamlessly into an already-established VMware View host environment, included integrated enterprise-level security, and does not require any special setup or software installed.
Still in beta, PocketCloud works on all popular Android smartphones such as the Moto Droid, HTC Incredible, Nexus One, HTC Hero and Evo 4G. It features advanced Mouse Touch pointer, custom keyboard with function and shortcut keys, remote app scrolling, automatic keyboard activation and enterprise grade security…
