DYMO CardScan Mobile hits the iPhone, BlackBerry smartphones

It was back in October of last year when we first talked about DYMO CardScan app for Windows Mobile. Now the company is extending its reach by bringing the application to the iPhone and BlackBerry users.

Available for $9.99, DYMO CardScan Mobile allows folks to scan business cards while on the go. On the iSide, it requires the iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4, whereas RIM fans should own one of the following devices: BlackBerry Curve 8900, BlackBerry Storm 9530, BlackBerry Storm 2 9550, BlackBerry Tour 9630 or BlackBerry Bold 9700. In other words, it is required that your mobile phone has at least 3-megapixel camera with auto-focus.

As you probably know this isn’t the first business card scanning app for the iPhone (I’m not sure about BlackBerry, though). If you search for “business card” in iTunes, you’ll get few other options. I assume DYMO wants to appeal to those folks who fell in love with DYMO label printer, which is the company’s best known product (as far as I know)…
