We have one good and one bad news to share with our French readers ownin’ the Samsung Galaxy S. The good news is that the Korean company hasn’t forgotten you – you will be getting the Android 2.2 updated. The bad news is that you’ll have to wait for September to grab it.
In the meantime, even without Froyo, the Galaxy S is quite powerful device that runs Samsung’s own TouchWIZ UI on top of Google’s mobile OS, allowing you to access key phone functions as well as some services (social networks, weather, calendar and so on) right from the phone’s homescreen.
Rest of the Galaxy S’ features include a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, 4-inch Super AMOLED WVGA touchscreen, HSPA and WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth 3.0, microSD memory card slot, etc.
So far, Samsung has managed to move more than a million Galaxy S units and the plan is to hit the 10 million mark by the end of the year.
