Remember the Motorola WX404 we’ve seen 10 days ago at the FCC’s website? Well, it has been officially announced by the American handset maker and it’s now one step closer to MetroPCS. From the press release, we learn it will start selling at some point in the third quarter, though we don’t have the exact date – guess MetroPCS will have to cover that front.
Specs wise, we’re talking about an entry-level QWERTY phone that seems ideal for first time phone buyers who like texting a lot. The support for threaded messaging is built-in and I assume there’s also some IM client pre-installed.
Rest of the specs include a 2.2-inch 220×176 pixels display, CDMA/EVDO/AWS 3G radio, 1.3-megapixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth, 950 mAH battery, email client, music player and a microSD memory card slot. What’s more, the device is “BFR and PCV free with a housing that is 100% recyclable at end of life,” making it also an eco-friendly choice.
Price has not been unveiled, though I doubt the GRASP costs more than $100 (possibly even less) on a contract.
