It looks like the beef between Apple and Adobe isn’t too bad because Adobe has just released an updated Photoshop Express app for the Apple iPhone and iPad.

The app, which has already been available on Android, changes the name from Photoshop Mobile to Photoshop Express. It is the first that’s compatible with the Apple iPad and that large screen should make for easier photo editing.

There’s also an updated user interface for Adobe Photoshop Express for the Apple iPhone and iPad, and it is quite visually pleasing.

Don’t expect the full features of the desktop Photoshop, as this Apple iPhone app only enables the basics like cropping, rotation and a few effects. Still, it’s a solid way to edit your photos on the go.

I think nfarmer summed it up best in his review on iTunes: “If you’re expecting photoshop-like features, forget this app. However, if you’re only looking for basic editing/transforming of images on iPhone, this app is really cool. And it is free!”

The Photoshop Express app comes as the relationship between Adobe and Apple continues to be tenuous, at best. The crux of the beef is that Apple doesn’t want Flash on the iPhone or iPad because Steve Jobs believes it is not right for the platform due to performance issues.

Adobe has countered that the lack of Flash on the iOS could hurt its business and the issue is being looked at by the Federal Trade Commission and the European Union.
