PayPal has submitted its latest iPhone app to Apple for the AppStore approval process. Version 2.5 prides itself with the donation feature, allowing users to quickly donate to more than 23,000 charities in the U.S., U.K. and Canada, including American Cancer Society, Autism Speaks, Save the Children, UNICEF, BBC Children in Need, Cancer Research UK, Canadian Red Cross and more. PayPal has teamed with MissionFish and Artez to make this happen.
The idea is noble – to simplify the donation process and help charities reach more donors. Mobile donations are increasingly getting traction and PayPal wants to take advantage of the trend (while at the same time doing the right thing).
Bill Gates said that the barrier to giving is not too little caring, it’s that giving is too complex. With this new release, PayPal hopes we are a step closer to solving that barrier…
As I said at the beginning of this post, the iPhone app has been submitted and it should hit the AppStore in the next couple of days – or it’s already in, check out from a link below.
