Samsung Galaxy S smartphones rock SRS 5.1 Virtual Surround sound

So the Samsung Galaxy S is not only the first Android smartphone with DivX HD certification, but also a device with SRS 5.1 Virtual Surround sound!

SRS sent us a press release that obviously makes Samsung’s baby even more appealing to buy. Not only does it have a gorgeous Super AMOLED screen, but also an excellent sound. Best of all, it’s not just the original, unlocked Galaxy S that rocks SRS’ audio technology, but all of its versions, including AT&T Captivate, T-Mobile Vibrant, Sprint Epic 4G and Verizon Fascinate.

To enable (hear) that sound, you’ll have to use a pair of decent stereo headphones (though they say any headphones will do just fine). Once that is set, simply tap the “5.1ch” button within either the embedded Music Player or Video Player and you’re literally “ready to rock.”

Here’s what to listen for when using the SRS 5.1 Virtual Surround feature:

  • Creates an accurate 5.1 personal surround sound experience over any stereo headphones
  • Dialog Clarity boosts the frequency range of the human voice in a way that lifts the dialog above the audio effects
  • A drastic increase in overall bass response

If you tried this out, don’t hesitate to drop us your two cents in the comments form below, k? 😉
