Auto3G Helps Your Jailbroken iPhone Battery Last a Little Longer

Until the Apple iPhone 4, which has some pretty killer battery life compared to older models, battery usage on the iPhone was a pretty big concern for most users. Auto3G should help you extend the battery life of your iPhone in between charges by turning 3G off every time you put the screen to sleep or lock your phone. To use the app, you’ll need to jailbreak your iPhone, but for the price of a little extra battery juice it might be worth it for some.

Auto3G shuts of the iPhone’s 3G radio when it’s locked, leaving 2G or EDGE on for notifications, SMS and calls, and it turns 3G back on when the phone is back in active use. That way, when your iPhone is just sitting idle in your pocket or on your desk, it won’t use as much energy as it would when the 3G radio is active.

Check out the video below to see just how the Auto3G app works and decide for yourself whether you need this for your energy-hogging Apple smartphone.

Nice vid. It seems a little to pricey for something that SBSettings lets you do manually for free though. Oh and by the way, that wallpaper is pretty cool. Could you send it to me? Thanks!
