Some shots of a new Android phone from LG have bubbled up, along with a handful of specs. Running Android 2.2 (Froyo), the LG E720 has a 3.2″ capacitive touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, and is powered by a 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 processor. It looks like a pretty standard mid-range handset, but Froyo features like mobile hotspot and added Exchange support will be welcome treats to something a little lower-end than, say, the Droid Incredible.
These days, it seems like most of LG’s attention is on Windows Phone 7, but they still maintain a bit of a presence in the Android world with the Ally. Upcoming Android plans from LG include making a tablet and porting the OS to the enV family of messaging phones, but I’d wager we won’t see any of that until Windows Phone 7 launches this fall.
The software seems a little spotty in the video below, so the E720 might still be in the early stages. The launch screen shows T-Mobile, so we’ll be looking in that direction for availability.
