London is Nokia’s turf this week, as the Finns hold their annual Nokia World conference in the UK. But, if you were to ask HTC, the “game” of mobile tech one-up-manship is afoot! HTC decided to hold their London-based press event on Day 2 on Nokia World, with the intention of unveiling the HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z Android smartphones to the world. Nokia isn’t all that happy about that, apparently, and have taken to marketing Nokia Ovi Maps outside HTC’s press event.
Spotted outside the HTC event were some Nokia marketing folks, toting red balloons that say “I know where I’m going with Nokia’s Ovi Maps.” The marketing tactics are quite entertaining at best, and potentially contentious, at worst. We say more power to both sides!
Let the battle for smartphone supremacy continue.
