Kingston Begins Shipping 32 GB microSD Memory Cards

SanDisk has had their 32 GB microSD memory cards out for long enough to start cutting the price on them, but if you’re looking for an alternative, Kingston has just begun shipping their cards to sales channels. Prices should range between $100 and $200, which might still be a bit high for some people, but you gotta pay if you want the biggest and best. Doing a bit of poking around, we can see some places are already selling Kingston’s 32 GB microSD memory cards in bulk.

32 GB is a big deal not only because it doubles the 16 GB capacity max that we’ve had for awhile, but it is also the last denomination before microSD cards get into the XC category, which will take mobile storage all the way up to 2 TB. Kind of mind boggling just to think of that amount of data in your pocket, isn’t it? I’m curious about how long it will take before we start seeing Class 4 and Class 6 32 GB microSD memory cards, since at those capacities, it’s really ideal to double as an HD camcorder card with the help of the bundled SD adapter – or hey, maybe we’ll see some really tiny HD camcorders that start taking microSD.
