You may recall Dusan tipping us off that Gameloft’s Real Soccer 2011 (or Real Football 2011!) was going to be available in the App Store in short order. Well, guess what… that time has come, and the game is now available for folks in North America. For folks in Europe, South America, Asia and Oceania, the developers want you to know that the game will arrive in your respective App Stores within a few days.
Quite honestly, I’m not a HUGE fan of soccer games. I must admit, I did have Real Soccer 2009 (I think it was 2009) installed on my iPhone, but only played it 3 or 4 times at most. Since then, I haven’t installed anything at all in the way of soccer games on my iPhone, iPad or desktop computer. Guess I’m not into it that much. However, when I learned that Gameloft released Real Soccer 2011, my ears perked up and I immediately took a look to see what was new.
Among the new features built into the 2011 edition of this franchise include:
- Revamped graphics promise fluid and lifelike gameplay.
- Jump back-in-time to play in historic matches (the developers must have a flux capacitor?)
- More teams and leagues are jammed in. Choose from over 350 teams and 14 leagues.
- Game modes remain the same, allowing you to manage your team, play as an individual player in legend mode, or play via WiFi and Bluetooth in multiplayer.
- New camera angles, player reactions and more make for the most realistic soccer experience for iOS yet
- Upload your best goals and highlights to YouTube.
There are many more features within, of course, but those are the key ones in my books. If you’re big into soccer (er, football), this is probably a must have for you. Keep in mind, it’ll be a big time waster. Be prepared to hunch over your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad for many hours (sore neck, here we come).
