We’ve covered SCVNGR a few times before and I recently had a chance to check out the company’s Rewards system.
Like Foursquare, SCVNGR lets users check in to locations and share that with their friends. It also integrates with Facebook Places, so you can share your location with your friends who are not savvy to the latest check-in apps.
SCVNGR Rewards takes it up a notch by offering users real-life discounts around town. The rewards service is only live in three cities right now but using it can get you discounts at bars, restaurants and bowling alleys.
For SCVNGR users, this makes the gaming element much more useful because it leads to real stuff and the merchants also get to drive some foot traffic. This model is already being put in place by Foursquare and I’d expect Facebook to eventually hop on the bandwagon too.
We used the app at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference and check out the video below to see how we got some sweet swag.
