The last we heard from Barry Steakfries, he was running into monsters and blasting them away with a number of weapons in Monster Dash. It looks like Barry is going to be featured in another game as Halfbrick is announcing Barry’s latest adventure, Age of Zombies, will be hitting the iPhone & iPad very soon.
Age of Zombies is a twin-stick shooter that will feature the often imitated, but never duplicated, Barry Steakfries as he fights a number of enemies including zombie cavemen, mummies, ninjas and the mother of all zombies, Zombie T-Rex! Age of Zombies will include a full story mode that will take place across five worlds with multiple levels in each world. A survival mode with global leaderboards will also be available, hopefully with full support for Apple’s Game Center as I’ve been getting my butt whooped in a number of online leaderboards.
Age of Zombies was originally released on the PSP this past February as a PSP Mini title. The iPhone & iPad version of Age of Zombies is said to have improved on the PSP version as it has updated graphics, new menus, touch-screen controls, and tutorials. If you ask me, when it comes to zombie killing, no one needs a tutorial. If something is slowly making its way to you, has rotting flesh, and says “Braaaaains!” over and over again, you should know by now you need to shoot it right in it’s stupid zombie face.
Age of Zombies is expected to be released in October as a universal app. That’s right folks! Pay for one copy of Age of Zombies on either your iPhone or iPad, and you get the other version for free. Don’t you love the words “Universal App?” I think I get the same feeling when I hear those words as I do when I hear the words “All you can eat.”
