PlayOn TV has everything but a great experience with Apple’s AppStore approval policy. The company’s iPhone app has been rejected by Cupertino folks for several months, prompting for a development of web-based HTML5 app for the iOS device users.
Something changed and voila – PlayOn Mobile is now in the AppStore, allowing iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad owners to sign-up for the subscription internet TV service. You can try it out for free for 14 days after which you should grab a yearly or lifetime subscription which cost $40 and $80, respectively. There’s also a free basic service that only supports Pandora music streaming along with the content from the user’s own hard drive.
In terms of available content, PlayOn works with Hulu, Netflix, ESPN, Comedy Central and a number of other cable channels.
The service works both over WiFi and 3G networks, and you can start using it by downloading the PlayOn Mobile app from a link below.
