Sprint won’t be the only carrier to offer Moto’s rugged ES400 smartphone. The device that runs Windows Embedded Handheld platform has been announced by AT&T, which will offer it to its business and government clients.
As you can expect from a rugged phone, it’s not exactly a beautiful device. Rather the accent is put on the function and durability. In the latter sense, the ES400 is designed to withstand dust, shock, vibration, rain, humidity, solar radiation, altitude and temperature extremes.
However, that robustness will help a business or organization enhance the productivity of its field workers. AT&T naturally suggest integration with its mobile applications for businesses and organizations that span several industries, including manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, retail trade, construction, transportation, utilities and government.
For example, the Motorola ES400 can be used for applications such as field service automation, allowing out-of-the-office employees to access and manage work orders, fill out timesheets, or perform diagnostics on equipment.
Pricing and exact availability information was not unveiled, though. And for more information, you should check the AT&T Rugged Device Solutions page.
