In celebration of 25 years of US publication, ELLE launched ELLE App for iPad in conjunction with the October 2010 Anniversary issue.
Unsurprisingly, the application takes full advantage of iPad’s large screen, bringing the real magazine look and feel, plus videos and tips from ELLE’s editors, tap-to-shop functionality, daily horoscopes, and two new customizable features – the ELLE Inspiration Board and Personal Stylist.
The Inspiration Board allows users to curate their favorite items from each issue and save their picks to create personalized inspiration boards. Once you’re done with mixing things, you can email the newly created inspiration board to friends or share it on social networking sites.
As for the Personal Stylist feature, it deconstructs the magazine’s fashion content allowing the user to create their own looks. To start, upload a photo of your face and then swipe through just about every product-tops, bottoms, dresses, shoe and accessories to create the desired look. Of course, this can also be shared as well as added to the inspiration board…
