Nokia announced that its flagship N8 smartphone will be available in the UK from the company’s website on October 15th for 429 GBP SIM free or on contract from 30 GBP per month. Moreover, the Symbian^3-powered device will also be available from a range of retailers and operators on October 22nd, including Carphone Warehouse, O2, Orange, Phones4u, T-Mobile, Tesco Phone Shops, Three Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone. In other words, the N8 will hit pretty much every bigger carrier and MVNO in the country.
Included with the British “version” of the device is the pre-loaded BBC iPlayer, enabling catch up on the last seven days of BBC radio and television. There’s also the brand new Ovi Store client with some Ovi-only apps like X Factor and LoveFilm.
You know the specs, but they are worth repeating nevertheless. The Nokia N8 comes with a 12-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash, HD video recording and editing capability, HSPA and WiFi connectivity, 3.5-inch nHD (360×640 pixels) capacitive touchscreen and a whole lot more.
