Following-up on the public launch of their BlackBerry app, HootSuite has added Facebook functionality to their Android client, which was previously only used for accessing Twitter. The update includes all of the corporate-grade social networking you could need, like accessing multiple accounts, scheduling posts, leave comments, and import most of your settings from the web browser client.
HootSuite has positioned itself as the ideal social networking client for professionals (i.e. PR and marketing folks), but given the mushrooming consumer appeal of Android, even people who are simply active on Facebook and Twitter will find HootSuite worth a shot (though the metrics and scheduled postings may be a little overkill).
I’m glad to see that the BlackBerry app is more or less on par with this release, even though it’s just become available. Since the web version plugs into Foursquare and LinkedIn, I would suspect that they’re the next networks to plug into HootSuite’s mobile clients. As far as Facebook specifically goes, Places and Chat support would be awesome, but that’s just wishful thinking at this point.
Anyway, download links to both versions are below – BlackBerry users can grab theirs from this link on their device.

– Download for iPhone (Free) [iTunes Link]
P.S. : This was HootSuite’s launch video way back when it first came out. Awesome, eh?
