Dell Venue Pro with Windows Phone 7 now on sale

One of the most exciting phones from the upcoming Windows Phone 7 launch should be the Dell Venue Pro and the portrait-slider is now available for sale online from Expansys.

If you hop on over to the site, you’ll see that you can pre-order the Dell Venue Pro for 499.99 Euros. This will be the unsubsidized price and it won’t ship for another 17 working days.

As for the release in the United States, we know that the Dell Venue Pro will be coming to T-Mobile but it doesn’t look like it will be sold in that carriers’ stores. Instead, the device will be sold through Dell and through carrier partners. I’d hope that it wouldn’t be priced at more than $200 with a new, two-year contract.

We like the device and had some hands-on time with it and left impressed. The screen is large and beautiful and the sliding mechanism works well. The keyboard is not quite BlackBerry level but it’s just a minor notch below.

The hardware is very attractive but so is the operating system. You can check out our full review of Windows Phone 7 for most of the details but the latest version of Microsoft’s smartphone operating system has a stunning visual appeal. It still is lacking some things like cut and paste and strong third-party app integration but those bumps should be smoothed out in the not-too-distant future.

T-Mobile will also be landing the HD7, which also is powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7. This will have a larger screen than Dell’s offering but it will lack the full QWERTY keyboard which some may crave. I think both options will be solid pickups if you’re into Microsoft’s platform.

In the meanwhile, check out the video below for some hands-on time with the Dell Venue Pro. Any of you in IntoMobile land planning to nab this phone when it comes out in November?
