AT&T’s Eco App helps iFolks take the green route

As part of its “One Million Eco Challenge” initiative, AT&T launched Eco App on the App Store in an effort to help youth minimize the environmental impact in local communities around the States.

There are several handy features included:

  • Recycling – Powered by 1800recycling.com, the application offers a simple way to locate the nearest recycling center.
  • Ability to donate to the Arbor Day Foundation, which will plant trees based on the amount donated. You can also share your contributions with your friends via Facebook and Twitter.
  • Updates from the Arbor Day Foundation and AT&T, including event details and other informative push notifications to share environmental tips and announcements.

On its end, AT&T said it will have a tree planted for every customer who opts-in to paperless billing in 2010 – up to 1 million trees this year. Needless to say, we encourage you to dump the paper, too. And to grab Eco App as well. AppStore link is below…
