Popular Facebook app It Girl will be available as a native application for the iOS and Android-powered smartphones. Developed using the multi-device social gaming engine Sibblingz, the application will allow users/players to explore an MMO-style city and gain “fashion supremacy” by acquiring new outfits. Players can join “cliques” and challenge other members of the community to outfit duels, deciding who’s hotter. Additionally, users will be able to build their digital wardrobes via in-app purchases.
In terms of technologies supported, It Girl will support push notifications and also utilize Facebook’s “Single Sign On.”
Exact release date is unknown, but we know Sibblingz is well-versed in porting Facebook apps to mobile platforms, having already brought Happy Island to Apple’s AppStore and Android Market. In that sense, I would expect to see It Girl hitting the two app stores within next couple of days…
Commenting on the news, Sibblingz’ chairman Peter Relan said: “A multi-device gameplay experience is the new way to reach the mass market of gamers. A seamless game experience to switch between devices will change what consumers expect from entertainment and we’re thrilled to be paving those roads, with the help of Facebook Connect and single sign-on.”
