Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab for its own backyard. As expected the version for South Korea (SHW-M180S) comes with the T-DMB mobile TV capability which is a must have for any decent device sold in the country these days. Moreover, some country-specific content will also be pre-installed on the tablet.
Rest of the specs remain the same and include a 7-inch 1024×600 pixels touchscreen, HSPA and WiFi connectivity, dual cameras, GPS, Bluetooth and a microSD memory card slot. Android 2.2 Froyo with Samsung’s TouchWIZ UI is running the show.
Unfortunately we don’t know the pricing nor availability information at this point. We do know SK Telecom is one of the carriers that will offer the Tab and will most likely bundle it with some of its own content and service offering(s). Moreover, we’ve no doubts other major Korean carriers — including KT and LG U+ — will join the party in no time.
