Remember that post from a few days ago, mentioning that Best Buy Canada would launch the BlackBerry Bold 9780 on November 9th? Well, the 9th is here, and indeed, it’s looking like the 9780 is on its way off the shelves for Canadian consumers.
As expected, Rogers has made the Bold 9780 available, and you can pick one up from Canada’s ‘Big Red’ for $149.99 on a 3-year contract. It should be very interesting to see if Rogers adjusts their pricing in the near term. TELUS also has the 9780 up for grabs, but for a much more palatable $99 on the same 3-year term. Rogers must really feel the market is willing to pay $50 for the same device found on other networks. Ballsy? Stupid? I’m not sure, really. Perhaps a bit of both.
Whatever the case, you can look forward to the BlackBerry Bold 9780 making debuts on various carriers around Canada from this point forward. If you’re curious, your best bet may be to head into a Best Buy location to check out multiple carrier options and prices all at once.
For what it’s worth, off-contract pricing seems to be standard. You can pick one up right now on Rogers or TELUS for $499.
For more information, head on over to Rogers (or TELUS!)
