Apple has launched a cryptic teaser page on its website that hints at an “exciting” iTunes announcement coming tomorrow. According to the teaser page, the Cupertino company will make its big announcement on Tuesday at 10AM New York time, 7AM California time, 3PM London time, and Midnight Tokyo time.
No word on what will be announced but the teaser page suggests it will be related to iTunes. Apple recently debuted iTunes 10.1 with support for AirPlay and is expected to roll out iOS 4.2 very soon. This announcement could finally reveal the release date for this highly anticipated update.
While iOS 4.2 is exciting, Apple probably has more than an iOS update up its sleeve. The Cupertino company may be ready to unveil its rumored iTunes in the cloud service, a streaming and possibly subscription-based service that has been rumored since Jobs et al. acquired and shuttered music-streaming company LaLa.
Apple may also be preparing to update its Apple TV to support applications or even launch the full Beatles catalog on iTunes as an afterthought. Who knows? Your guess is as good as ours, so please share your thoughts and speculation in the comments. Oh yeah, don’t forget to check back tomorrow to find out what Steve Jobs and company has in store for everyone.
