We’re still waiting patiently for Apple to release iOS 4.2 to the masses, but right now developers are getting a taste of 4.2.1 as the GM build has just been released. It’s a pre-release version with the build number 8C148 and it’s available from the iOS Developer Center as we speak.
Apparently, there is a rumor going ’round that says Apple may skip iOS 4.2 for public consumption and go straight to 4.2.1, which should solve Exchange and audio issues along with the Wi-Fi issues on the iPad that held back 4.2’s release last week. Is it possible that Apple is firmly on the brakes until next week and opting for this latest version instead?
