We know that the Android 2.2.1 build hit the original Droid about a week ago but now Motorola Droid X users can get this with a taste of Blue love.
Droid-Life has a good walk through of how to get it on your system, but you need to have your Droid X rooted and be an experienced user. If you’re worried about diving into rooting for the first time, you may just want to wait for the official over-the-air updates.
You’re going to need to download this file and make sure you’re rooted. Then, you simply follow these instructions:
1. Download the file from above onto your SD card.
2. Using Koush’s Droid X Bootstrap, bootstrap the recovery, then reboot into it.
3. Navigate to “mounts and storage” and choose:
– format system
– mount /system
4. Return 1-menu by tapping the power button once. Choose “install zip from sdcard.”
5. Select “choose zip from sdcard” and select the Blur.zip file you downloaded from above.
6. Your phone will now upgrade to the newest Blur and Android version.
Go for it if you’re willing and let us know how it goes in the comments.
