After the launch in Germany, the Samsung Wave 723 is heading towards the UK. O2 has just started offering the Bada-powered smartphone in the country asking for no money upfront as long as you commit on a 20 GBP a month contract. That money also buys you 100 minutes and unlimited text messages per month.
It does sound like an appealing offer which we would certainly suggest if there were no other Android and even Symbian deals around. The problem, as you may know, is the lack of available apps and games for Samsung’s platform — the issue which doesn’t exist with other smartphones, those running Android especially.
Specs wise, the Wave 723 comes with a 3.2-inch WQVGA capacitive touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus, HSPA and WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, FM radio with recording option, 3.5mm headset jack and a microSD memory card slot. In a nutshell, we’re talking about a solid mid-ranger here…
