Spotted earlier in the wild, the LG Star is expected to be one of the first dual-core Android handsets from the Korean manufacturer. Though we have seen some pretty polaroids of the handset, the full specifications are still unknown. In addition to its Tegra 2 processor, the Star is thought to include a 4-inch display, an 8-megapixel camera with support for 1080P, HDMI out, and either Android 2.2. or 2.3.
Thanks to the good folks at GSM Israel we now have a 7-minute long video that gives us a closer look at the LG Star. The hardware is showcased, the OS previewed, and, in the ultimate comparison, the Star is positioned next to the Apple iPhone. While we can ogle the device and catch glimpses of the Android 2.2 OS, the video is not in English and the nuances that come from an audio commentary is lost to those who are not fluent in Hebrew.
If this handset pans out as rumored, the Star will be a worthy offering for the Korean manufacturer. Known for its mid-level offerings, LG is struggling to move away from the likes of the Ally and into the realm of the high-end handset. Though its Optimus One promises to be a big seller worldwide, it is still a mid-level handset and not the flagship the Korean manufacturer needs to catch up with it rival Samsung. Perhaps the Star will be the flagship that wows everyone when LG kicks off the new year at CES 2011.
