No doubt Google employees are testing the Google Nexus S. Eric Schmidt showed off the handset last month at the Web 2.0 Summit and the handset has been spotted in the wild with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Also last month, sample images taken from the Nexus S were uploaded to Picasa via an account thought to be used by Google. These images were obviously taken for testing purposes as they were black/white and chromatic.
We can give a another round of applause to Picasa as a second set of Nexus S images has been spotted on Google’s image sharing website. These latest images were taken by the Samsung GT-I9020, otherwise known as the Nexus S, and showcase the camera’s ability to take “real life” photos. They also serve to confirm the Samsung manufactured handset will have a 5-megapixel sensor, though we don’t know if this sensor is the same or an improved version of the one found in the Galaxy S.
The gallery includes a shot of children’s work bench toys, an empty Google commuter bus, and an interesting (and possibly identifiable) license plate. Even the Nexus S itself is thought to be captured in one of the shots which was taken on a plane or bus. We also have a sample video that shows off the handset’s HD video recording quality.
