Just in time for the holiday season, Samsung launched a white version of its popular Android smartphone, Galaxy S, in Germany. In addition to the differently colored back panel, the white version is identical to the original Galaxy S. That said you should expect it comes with the same 5-megapixel camera with HD video recording capability, 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, HSPA and WiFi connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth and some decent amount of built-in storage. Moreover, Android 2.1 Éclair is still running the show, meaning you’ll want to update it almost immediately after the purchase (presuming the Android 2.2 Froyo update is available).
And now the strange thing – in its official press release, Samsung says that the white Galaxy S costs 649 EUR. I guess that’s a price only a sucker will pay considering that the phone is also available for 463.99 EUR through Amazon Germany. That’s almost 200 EUR less! I don’t get such a variation in the price. Any thoughts?
