Samsung will be integrating the Mobage social gaming platform in its Android smartphones in the coming months. As a result, those with Galaxy and other “made by the Korean giant” Android devices will be able to connect with other gamers, track their status, high scores and so on.
And that’s almost all we know at the moment. The thinking behind this move is obvious – if Apple is doing it (with its GameCenter), we must do it, too. And since many of Samsung’s smartphones compete with the iPhone and with the growing appeal of Android smartphones as gaming devices, this seems reasonable enough. In that sense, one Samsung’s executive commented: “As social gaming features rise in popularity and importance for mobile experiences, Samsung will continuously invest to provide the best experience to our consumers.”
As soon as we hear something new on this, we’ll let you know. In the meantime, interested developers can get more information from Mobage’s Developer site.
