This picture of an unannounced Palm Pixi model has been found among Sprint’s marketing materials somewhere the original Pixi should be, only sporting a brand new front-facing camera. There’s nothing to run on specs-wise, but it will need to be running something newer than webOS 2.0, since that software doesn’t have any support for front-facing cameras.
Just this morning we were hearing about the Broadway, a rumoured codename for a successor to the Pixi. The Palm Pre 2 has been officially refreshed, but still not released on Verizon. One would expect that Palm’s sole other form factor, the cheaper, smaller Pixi, would also be privileged to a spec upgrade, and this very well may be it.
CES is coming up soon, and it wouldn’t be entirely bizarre to see HP Palm bust this one out; if they announce a tablet at the same time, then webOS fans will have a great start to 2011. On the other hand, that “camera” could just be a secondary proximity sensor.
