HP and Palm announced the Pre 2 way back in October, and die-hard Pre fans have been waiting for the successor with limited patience. Of course, it’s not a tremendous upgrade to the original, but for those looking to hang onto the Pre and yearning for a little more – like a glass screen and a faster processor – the Pre 2 is it.
The device should be arriving any day now as it has made an appearance in Best Buy’s system headed for Verizon. It’s obvious that the webOS 2.0 smartphone will be arriving some time early next year – since today is the last day of 2010! – and according to the image above it will go for $499, presumably without a contract.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a hard release date, but the fact that it’s in the Best Buy system now means it’s just weeks away, or perhaps even sooner.
Are you a current Palm Pre or Palm Pre Plus owner? Are you thinking of upgrading or has the allure of Android or iOS given you enough reason to switch platforms and devices?
