So it was not only the three Android tablets ASUS has prepared for this year’s CES. The Taiwanese company also had a Windows slate ready for the event.
Called Eee Slate EP121, it rocks a 12.1-inch LED-backlit capacitive touchscreen with 1280×800 pixels resolution and a wide 178° viewing angle. Then there’s a 32 or 64 GB of SSD storage that is further expandable with SDXC memory cards, up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, Intel Core i5 dual-core processor, 802.11n Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 3.0, 2-megapixel camera, two USB and a mini-HDMI port for connecting external display. Windows 7 Home Premium is running the show, while the capacitive stylus offers fine precision input and control.
Although we’re not sure whether we like or dislike such a huge tablet — pardon my ignorance but when it comes to tablets size does matter and it’s a matter of balance — the EP121 did manage to impress folks of CES which selected it for a CES 2011 Innovations Award.
