The Zumobi Network, which touts itself as the “leading premium mobile app network,” has teamed-up with the Popular Science magazine to re-design their iPhone app and launch a brand new app for the Android platform.

Available as a free download, compliments of the sponsor – Ford Motor Company, the application brings the PopSci.com science and technology news content to the palm of your hand.

The app’s new interface (which was made by Zumobi) includes “Featured” news articles at the top of the screen and allows users to scroll through thumbnails horizontally. Below, the “News” section includes a list of all news articles that can be separated into four categories: “Gear,” “DIY” (Do It Yourself), “Green” and “Photos.” Aside from “Photos,” each section includes video and photo content along with the text of each article. All of this content can be easily shared using Facebook, Twitter and e-mail.

And that’s about it… iPhone app can downloaded from a link below, while Android users will have to search for “popular science” in the Android Market and take it from there.
