The HTC EVO 4G is arguably one of the first real solid superphones out there. It was one of the first to hit the market with a screen size over four inches, it rocks a 1GHz processor, an 8-megapixel camera and it was also the first 4G phone using Sprint’s WiMax network. Though I’m primarily an iPhone 4 user now, I still have a soft spot for the HTC EVO 4G – the first Android phone I really loved. (Before that, I had the original Motorola Droid, a great phone but mediocre keyboard.)
Now you can nab the EVO 4G for Sprint from Amazon for just $99 with a new, two-year contract. With the HTC EVO Shift 4G on the way, it’s no surprise that the price of the original EVO is dropping, but that doesn’t mean it’s an ancient or dated device. Even with Tegra 2 smartphones coming out and Android 2.3 Gingerbread in the pipeline, the EVO 4G is still a capable and solid smartphone amongst today’s heavyweights.
You can get either the white or black version for just a bill from Amazon now.
