Japan-based AKAI Mobiles is launching its first triple SIM phone in India. Called “Trio”, the device can work with 3 GSM networks at the same time, which apparently is a much required feature among mobile users in the country. In addition, the phone also comes with a 2-inch display, 1.3-megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth support and FM radio. In terms of pre-installed apps, there is an organizer, some games and an ebook reader.
Trio will be available for Rs. 3,295 ($71.40) across 15,000 retail outlets around India.
It’s important to say this isn’t the first tri-SIM phone we’ve seen. Quite the contrary, we’ve already talked about three other such devices and again – we don’t know from where you can buy/import it.
Commenting on the Trio launch, AKAI India’s Mr. Pranay Dhabhai said: “We always strive to give our customers value for money products and we hope that this launch will hold the purpose. ‘Trio’ will cater to the requirements of all the segments of consumers across categories.”
