LG will be bringing the Optimus 2X in Australia at some point in March or April. The information comes from Gizmodo Australia which talked to an LG official in the country.
At the moment, it’s unclear which carrier will offer the device, but I’ve no doubts the big three — Telstra, Optus and Vodafone — all want a piece of the dual-core action. It is said that LG’s Android smartphone will be “carried exclusively on one or possibly two carriers.” Yup, it sounds weird – exclusive means “one and only” in my book, but what do I know…
Anyway, the Optimus 2X is eagerly awaited device that rocks NVidia’s Tegra 2 dual-core processor and an 8-megapixel camera with full HD video (1080p) recording capability. Moreover, it also comes with other “standard for Android” goodies like HSPA and WiFi connectivity, GPS, an array of sensors, Bluetooth and so on. The smartphone will be sold with Android 2.2 Froyo, but will be upgradable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
