Mobile World Congress 2011 will be the place to be to see this year’s hottest mobile gadgets – you know, phones, tablets, peripherals, etc.. And, as if we needed another reason to head out to Barcelona, this year’s Mobile World Congress Party and Awards Celebration will be headlined by the “Rockferry” best-selling artist Duffy.
The GSMA, the folks responsible for all things Mobile World Congress, had this to say about the new addition to their conference lineup:
The Congress Party and Awards Celebration will once again be held at the beautiful National Palace in Montjuïc. This evening event provides attendees with fantastic high-level networking opportunities – while enjoying world-class entertainment. This year we’re pleased to feature Grammy and Brit award-winning singer/songwriter Duffy and internationally acclaimed indie rock band Metric. Noted British TV and radio presenter Jonathan Ross will serve as our celebrity host.
Looks like we’ll be seeing more than just a bunch of new Android Honeycomb tablets, LTE devices, dual-core smartphones at MWC 2011. With rumors of Samsung bringing some NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core power to its next-generation Galaxy S device, our fingers crossed for a glimpse of the HTC Scribe Android Honeycomb tablet, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play expected to be unveiled, and now Duffy confirmed for the official after party, we’re going to have our hands full covering all the happenings in Barcelona.
Remember, we’ll be bringing you live coverage of Mobile World Congress starting Feb. 13th!
