AAA launched an Android version of its AAA Roadside app, allowing its members to request roadside assistance without placing a call. The magic is in using the phone’s built-in GPS receiver to determine the exact location of the driver and send it [location] directly to AAA Roadside Assistance.
When compared to the original AAA Roadside app for iPhone, which debuted in 2009 and has been downloaded a half million times, Android version comes with an additional feature called Battery Quote Calculator that instantly provides AAA member pricing on replacement batteries offered through AAA’s Mobile Battery Service. Users enter the vehicle’s year, make, model and engine size to receive battery pricing. Moreover, there’s an option to have your battery replaced by one of AAA’s roadside problem-solvers in which case the pricing and part number will be submitted automatically with the request for AAA Roadside Assistance.
Additionally, the app enables users to locate nearby AAA Approved Auto Repair facilities, which are inspected by AAA and must meet and maintain tough professional standards.
