One year ago today, the Apple iPad was unveiled by Steve Jobs at an Apple press event. After several months of waiting and non-stop speculation, the tablet device made its debut in early April of 2010. After a rocky start plagued by shortages, sales of the iPad began to take off in the middle of the year. The remainder of the year was spent counting sales figures and estimating the number of units shipped, a task that kept analysts very busy. At the end of 2010, the iPad crept close to its first anniversary and closed out ten months of sales. The infographic on the second page details these sales figures and other pithy facts about the Apple iPad. It is well worth a look to see how the iPad beat the early sales estimates and not-so-glowing assessment of the device.
