Sony Ericsson’s sexy new Android 2.3 Gingerbread phone, the XPERIA Arc, uses Sony’s Bravia engine to help makes photos and videos look as good as possible. Today, we’re seeing the fruit of all that image and video processing tech, with sample photos and videos from the Xperia Arc showing off what the handset can do with its 8-megapixel camera. It may not be as exciting as having the handset in our hands, but it’ll have to do until that happens.
There’re a handful of pictures taken with the Arc’s 8.1 megapixel camera, and one video shot at 720p HD. The pictures and video are crisp and clear, but we do wish there were some comparison shots with another handset so we can compare the camera quality. Nonetheless, the Bravia engine should definitely enhance the picture quality of the handset’s photos.
For those who have yet to hear about the Arc, you’ve been missing out. The handset comes with a gorgeous 4.2 inch “Reality display” with a resolution of 854 x 480, 1GHz Qualcomm processor, 8.1 megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording. The only potential drawback is that the single core CPU on the handset may make it seem outdated out of the gate, as many handset-makers are coming out with dual-core processor smartphones. That said, the Arc is one sexy device that gets as thin as 8.7mm, making it one of the thinnest smartphones out there.
Already available for pre-order in the UK, the Arc is just the beginning of SE’s promising lineup. It looks like the company has finally gotten serious about their Android handsets, as they will be coming out with the Xperia Play in the near future as well this year. The Arc is probably the one handset that caught my eye enough to actually consider purchasing, even without a dual-core processor, and other features that some handset’s will feature. It’s sexy, sleek, and I want two of them.
So while you’re drooling over the sexy hardware on the Arc, keep in mind that there’s beauty on the inside of this thing, too. To be reminded of that, check out the video and pictures below!
